Back!

Back!

Two parts to this – She’s Back! The Beeny returns – inspiring the nation to do it themselves, take on the planners, not to take her advice and still build a dream home / make a quid or two. A fine excuse to ignore the never shrinking job list and put your feet up on a Wednesday evening. Plus, my back! – is finally on the mend, three weeks of fairly severe pain put pay to much of the heavy lifting required to complete the outside, but there’s been plenty to finish off inside.

First fix and insulation now complete in the two rooms upstairs (and stairs ordered), ready for final boarding and plastering next week (pandemic pending).

Making a bit of progress in the kitchen as more bits finally arrive (or are available for order / delivery).

Over sink lights:-

A fridge and freezer – the top box adds height to the units and makes sense in the room but makes little sense in terms of a usable space. We’ll need to move the shelf up in the tall cupboard to accommodate the fridge (and freezer – not in the same cabinet!). That makes two fairly useless storage areas per cabinet – ‘Wine Bottles’ came the cry – good thinking!

School boy error – measure twice and read the instructions – 19mm cabinets – need to split the spacers

Mounting plate works well but we’re missing the metal work to join the two parts of the door (one for Monday).

Freezer and more ‘wine storage’:-

Most of the day is taken adjusting this type of thing out of the cabinets. The white protective tape exaggerates the issues but the initial alignment was a mile out.

Getting there (the white strip on the left is the edge of an end-panel, honestly)

(EWD has now disowned this lot – usually happens around 8 weeks, or so, after hatching).
