Any work on a property is likely to be fairly disruptive to daily life. One question was always going to be ‘should we continue with the build?’. Faced with the reality of a life limiting disease, time itself becomes precious. You quickly get over anything that wastes that time and focus on what’s truly important. A touch of normality was called for, something familiar to provide stability amongst the chaos that is an over stretched NHS (If you have the strength and wit to “manage” your own case, do so, no one else will).
