Endless discussions about the link between the two buildings has ended.

Building Control won’t sign that part off unless we address heat loss issues, more insulation, more doors (direct impact on how open plan we’re going to be).

The other consideration, this is a grand design, not a Grand Design – initial look at the cost of building the porch / corridor / hall in glass is likely to between £25,000 and £40,000.

The compromise? Add another layer of insulation to both builds and submit a non-material planning change to alter the roof type from glass to raised seam zinc (or its cheaper steel equivalent).
