Tank

Tank

Less Stranglers, more Oil.

There’s a single skin 1200 litre plastic oil tank at one end of the site. At nearly 20 years old and the need to dig a 30 metre trench to the new boiler location, we’re going to replace and relocate.

That’s where the fun began. Initial site preparation was greeted with a distinct smell – that of a septic tank ‘soakaway’. We kept digging and revealed what we think is the old septic tank, still full! – call Shift**it

A couple of concrete rigs with gravel between them, drain out (blocked). Anyone finding this interesting (a true test)?

We’ll fill the centre with concrete, drop in a crate and fill with pipe bedding, then overflow through a drainage ‘field’.

Back to the oil tank – we’ll need to pour a slab (return of Mini Moore) but first knock in the shuttering and fill with MOT (Clive Hurt returns)

Time to pour once we’ve worked out which end does it come out of.

We’re going to need a bit more than that! (There’s a theme developing).

Once the slab’s done, drop in the Qual-oil pipe, inside MDPE for a bit of protection.

AJ’s digger is back – the ‘fun’ you can have – split pipework everywhere
