The Thin Green Line

Fairly slow progress in the New Year, but progress. The bathroom floor has been relaid, many thanks Austin (a commercial fitter working for Mears). The old floor was removed with this bit of kit:

While that’s happening the kitchen gets its first coat of paint (20 litres of white emulsion).

Installation is easier said than done. Remember the extra layer of foil insulation (Thinsulex TLX Silver Multifoil)? Somewhere in the range of difficult to impossible to drill / use a hole saw through. So the cables have been dropped through the insulation and plasterboard layers. A bit of care needed cutting around the cable, then a degree of patience to get through the foil and remove enough of the PIR insulation to form a cavity.
